Wolf Brother / Michelle Paver
I listened to this book as an audiobook. I would like to give you three reasons why you should do the same:
1. Its a fantasy book where many things are in a slightly off English. It is good to have someone say those words aloud, so you can get an idea of if it is a made-up thing or an intentional misspelling of a real thing.
2. It features a wolf, and there is a lot of onomatopoeia
3. It is narrated by SIR IAN MCKELLEN
Yeah this was a great book and the narration was just fantastic. It is a 'childrens' book but it really works for all ages. The story is very relate-able on many levels. Also, because this is fantasy, but well researched fantasy, it also sort of feels like you are listening to a nature documentary on wildlife of a temperate forest Lots of interesting facts and tidbits.

Is it Narnia good or Golden Compass good?
ReplyDeleteI think as an audiobook it is. I don't think the writing alone would stand up that well. But because the performance of McKellen is so good, I would put it up there. I mean, its Gandolf and Magneto reading it to you...
