Not so big remodeling
Not so big remodeling by Sarah Susanka is a useful book containing many ideas of how to upgrade a smaller house without breaking the budget. Susanka talks about small projects that can have a big impact on the way your house functions to meet your needs. She advises people to keep everything simple. Remove walls, add bumpouts (like bay windows), change the layout, etc; ideas that can make the average house function better.
The author includes house plans featuring before and after pictures and points out the changes made. She discusses every room in the house with an eye toward lighting, paint choices, furniture and room arrangement; small projects that will allow your house to serve you better. She also shows how to improve the look of the exterior of the house. The illustrations are extremely helpful, and the book will prove useful to anyone who wants to make a small house live bigger and better.
